07 JUNE 2012
Coyne Airways is pleased to announce the appointment of Frank P. Weber, USAF (Ret.) as its new Director of Military and Government Sales.
In this new role, Frank will represent and promote Coyne Airways in dealings with the US Department of Defense, US Transportation Command and other government agencies as it strives to remain a valued provider of air transportation services to and from Afghanistan, Iraq and other difficult to reach destinations.
“During a long and illustrious career with the US military culminating as a member of the Senior Executive Service, Frank has developed a detailed understanding of the logistics of deployment and redeployment. Frank is also well aware of the advantages for the military of contracting with commercial companies in order to maintain capabilities and cut costs, having spearheaded initiatives which saved the US taxpayer millions of dollars while in federal service. We at Coyne are confident that we can continue to provide excellent and cost-effective air cargo services to the US military and contractors, and we are thrilled to have Frank on board to represent us and raise awareness of our capabilities,” commented Larry Coyne, CEO.
Frank Weber entered federal civil service in 1975 and, prior to retirement in 2008, worked in a variety of roles, including for the Headquarters Military Traffic Management Command, the Headquarters of the Department of the Army, and the U.S. Transportation Command. During his career with the military, Frank focused on the strategy and logistics of deployment in roles including Strategic Mobility Planner and Chief of the Mobilization Division for the Department of the Army, and Deputy Director of Plans & Policy and of Logistics & Business Operations for Transcom. Frank Weber spearheaded several initiatives aimed at reducing cost while increasing capabilities by re-engineering the defense supply chain and better leveraging commercial resources and best practice. Frank’s service to his country has been recognised by a number of awards, including the prestigious Air Force Exemplary Civilian Service Award, Vice President Al Gore’s Hammer Award, the National Defense Transportation Association’s Department of Defense Distinguished Service Award, Joint Distinguished Civilian Service Award and Meritorious Executive Presidential Rank Award.
“I am excited at this opportunity to be part of the Coyne Airways team. Over a period of many years, Coyne has proven itself to be a trusted provider of reliable, agile and cost-effective air transportation and multi-modal services to the U.S. military. I am looking forward to working with them as they continue building upon that tradition and deliver even greater levels of support to our global defense transportation system,” commented Frank.
